Kia Carnival 2021

Next-gen Kia Carnival: 5 key design details

Kia Motors recently shared extensive details about the new Carnival luxury MPV, which will go on sale in Korea in the third quarter of 2021.

1. Referred to as a ‘Grand Utility Vehicle’, the fourth-gen Carnival gets a more SUV-like silhouette, rounded off by an all-new ‘Tiger-nose’ grille, redesigned headlamps, unique DRL signature that extends all the way till the grille’s edge, chrome trims, faux skid plate, etc.

2. The new ‘tiger face’, i.e. the fascia, extends across the Carnival’s width, effortlessly integrating the headlamps with the ‘tiger-nose’ grille. Kia calls it the ‘symphonic architecture’ since the design theme observed at the front serve to unite a variety of detailed features to bring about harmony.

3. The luxury MPV features a shorter front overhang so as to enable Kia to increase the New Carnival’s wheelbase. And that, in turn, has freed up even more space for the passengers.

4. The 4th Gen. of the Kia Carnival gets a novel ‘island roof’ design along with blacked-out A- and B-pillars. Other notable features in the car’s profile include the new C-pillar signature design, similar to the one spotted on the new Kia Sorento. And to take things up another notch or two, the chrome fin, which partly encompasses the rear windows, is finished with a subtle diamond pattern. Kia says this diamond pattern is also reflected throughout the car’s cabin.

5. At the rear, onlookers are treated to a broad and distinguishing new design that leverages full-width lines to highlight the new Carnival’s solid stance. Kia wraps up the design with a metallic lower skid plate that lends the car a more muscular appearance and fortifies its SUV-inspired design.
